Jesus is the light: 7 Bible verses about light for your home

By His Glow, a 3-minute read

Some nights, you get home tired and the whole day still feels heavy. You turn on one lamp, and the room feels softer. God talks about light all through the Bible. Here are seven short verses to keep in your home.

“I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”John 8:12

Where it fits: the lamp by the front door. Jesus said it plainly. With Him, you are not walking in the dark.

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.”Matthew 5:14

Where it fits: the kids' room. A reminder that they shine for Him too.

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”Psalm 119:105

Where it fits: the hallway light you use at night.

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?”Psalm 27:1

Where it fits: your nightstand, for the hard nights.

“God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”1 John 1:5

Where it fits: the living room, where your family gathers.

“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.”Isaiah 60:1

Where it fits: the kitchen, where the morning starts.

“For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.”Psalm 18:28

Where it fits: your reading chair, for quiet time.

Pick one and start tonight

You don't need all seven. Pick the one that made you stop and read it twice. Say it tonight when you turn on the lamp. Say it again tomorrow.
